About our Name "Roxiticus"

Our Company is named for a scenic valley in Morris and Somerset Counties, New Jersey through which runs the headwaters of the north branch of the Raritan River.

The Roxiticus Valley now makes up much of the Ralston area of Mendham, New Jesery. A winding and rolling Roxiticus Road now travels past the farms and estates in the valley from Mendham to Far Hills.

The valley was a place for council meetings for the Minsi or Minnisink Indians, part of the Lenni Lenape “nation” and of the family of Algonquian tribes.

“Roxiticus” is an Indian name to describe this place for coming together.

This beautiful meeting valley, once a sacred place for respected leaders and elders to come together for council, planning, and problem solving was the inspiration for our organization and mission. We are proud to share the Roxiticus name and to draw inspiration from this unique place and its special meaning.
